This is one of the best recreational trails in Maine. It is a great family trail due to its fairly smooth surface and safety. It is a year-round trail with biking and hiking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. No matter what season you visit this great Maine trail, you’ll love the scenery. There are numerous places to stop along the way including the town of Hallowell where you’ll find some good food options after you’ve worked up a hearty appetite.
