What’s up with all the trails that lead to breweries?
Seriously. Let’s take a look some of them:
The Clear Creek Trail that runs from Denver, CO to Golden, CO also leads to the Coors Brewery in Golden. Talk about your pot of gold at the end of the trail.
The Tammany Trace Bike Trail near New Orleans, Louisiana is interrupted by a stop at the Abita Brewery in Abita Springs/Covington, LA. And if you’re there @ 2:00, you get to taste 14 different beers and a root beer… for free. And you get a brewery tour, to boot.
And I’m told the Poudre River Trail near Fort Collins, CO goes near the New Belgium Brewery. I believe all of these breweries offer tours and tastings.
So if you’re into biking & beer, you’ll more than likely enjoy these trails and the little side trips to the breweries.

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World or one of the other great tourist attractions near Orlando, Florida, have I got the bike trail for you.
The West Orange Trail is a 22 mile, mostly paved trail in Orange County, Florida. It has a nice mix of urban/suburban/rural scenery and is quite convenient for those visiting Florida’s theme parks. In addition to riding bikes and visiting Mickey Mouse, travelers can pick oranges, see alligators, and have fun in the sun.

Queretaro City & Sierra Gorda are towns in Mexico with “car free centers” which is almost a good as a carmel filled center.
I love finding car free places where pedestrians & bicylists rule the road. It’s safer, healthier, & calmer.
Okay, I’ve recommended a couple car-free zones; now it’s your turn. If you know of any car free islands, I’d love to hear about them. Drop me an email or reply to this blog. I’ll add your suggestion to my “car free islands” file.
Thanks!!

Tammany for nothin’ and your bikes for free.
Okay, so it’s a terrible interpretation of the Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler lyrics; but wait to you get to the end of this description for an even worse lyrical massacre.
However, if you want to skip the beginning and end of the article, you’ll find what’s in the middle to be a gem of bike trail advice.
The Tammany Trace Trail (TTT) or just “The Trace” as the locals call it is a masterpiece trail; it’s no wonder it has one awards for being one of the top-rated trails in the U.S.
Located in the Tammany Parish, the trail is just across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans in the St. Tammany Parish of Louisiana. It’s easy to find, easy to ride, and easy to fall in love with.
The information above is a portion of the description for the Tammany Trace a rail trail in Louisiana. For more information click on the link or visit www.trailsnet.com.
