This is a fantastic train & trail bike ride. Take the train from the Remagen, Germany (on the Rhine) train station and stay on it until the last stop at Ahrbruck. Then you can choose to either just head back down to the Rhine from here or bike further up toward Blankensheim. The bike route described in the map below only goes as far as Schuld because a certain trail fanatic had a 12:15 wine-tasting tour in Mayschoss. (I don’t know how to make that weird German B that makes an ss sound.)
Some must-sees on this Ahr Valley bike route include the wine tour at MayschoB, the castle ruins at Altenahr and the fortified old town area of Ahrweiler. But really the entire Ahr Trail is the star of the Ahr Valley. You will have the opportunity to bike through tunnels, explore quaint German towns and view some lush wine region scenery.
