As I drove to the trailhead, I saw an abundance of cars on the road. I worried that the trail might be busy, but when I got there, I was surprised to find myself in the peaceful solitude of a wilderness-like setting. The only sound I could hear was the plaintive yelps of distant coyotes and an occasional sigh of wind through the trees. While the southern portion of Arizona broils with incessant heat, the trails near Flagstaff are pleasantly cool. Gosh I love writing trail descriptions on this incredible Trailsnet website.
