Cuyamaca Peak Trail
Hike to the second highest peak in San Diego County. Although it’s the second highest, it’s the peak most visible from most parts of the county.
Begin at the entrance gate fro Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and follow the main paved fire road to the summit. Biking is also allowed, but the trail is steep in places and you may be forced to “hike a bike.” Plus, make sure your brakes are in good working condition for the lightning fast trip back down. The round trip distance is about 5.5 miles and the overall elevation gain/loss is about 1,600 ft.
