Dawkins Line Rail Trail
Located in Johnson & Magoffin counties, the Dawkins Line Rail Trail is currently the longest rail trail in Kentucky and will soon be twice as long as its current length. The crushed stone trail surface makes it best for bicycling, walking and trail running, but it is also makes a good equestrian trail.
This rail trail began its life as a coal-hauling railroad line that was originally constructed at the very beginning of the twentieth century. Eventually, the trail will run all the way into Breathitt County.
