Deckers Creek Rail Trail

Decker’s Creek Rail Trail gains 1000 feet from Morgantown WV to Reedsville WV.  Since this is spread over 17 miles, it means you pedal, but not very hard.  Then coming down is a gentle coast downhill that is so worth the uphill effort.  I had the feeling of my bike going on it’s own, but at a great pace most of the time.  Near the Reedsville end there are more coke ovens than I had ever seen in one place.  Most of the trail is in trees providing a colorful ride in October and shade in the summer.  Most of the rail-trail is not paved but it was so smooth it felt like riding on pavement – a very well maintained trail.

I had the feeling my bike was moving on its own…the f was left off feeling and changed the verb.

  1. Thanks for the heads-up Mary Sue. The correction has been made and we’ve put the feeling back in the Deckers Creek Rail Trail.
